Best AI Security Vendors 2026: Platforms and Companies Ranked

For CISOs, security architects and AI platform teams choosing an AI security vendor in 2026. The market splits into six jobs: runtime and prompt protection, AI agent security, AI security posture management (AI-SPM), model scanning and supply chain security, red teaming, and stopping data leakage. Most vendors now sell several of these, and many have changed owners: Protect AI is part of Palo Alto Networks (Prisma AIRS), Prompt Security is part of SentinelOne, Lakera is part of Check Point, CalypsoAI is part of F5 (F5 AI Guardrails) and Robust Intelligence is part of Cisco (Cisco AI Defense). This page ranks platforms by how many of those jobs they document on their own sites. For deeper lists see Best AI Agent Security Tools 2026, Best AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) Tools 2026 and Best AI Red Team Tools 2026.

Selection criteria

How we decided which vendors qualify for inclusion.

  • Documents at least three of the six jobs on its own product pages: runtime and prompt protection, agent security, AI-SPM, model scanning or supply chain security, red teaming, and data leakage controls.
  • Protects AI the customer builds or deploys (applications, models or agents), not only employee use of public chatbots.
  • Enforces policy at runtime (blocking, redacting or masking), documented on the vendor's site.
  • Acquired products are ranked under the name they are sold as today, checked October 30, 2026.
  • Profiled in our vendor directory. Vendors we have not profiled yet are named in the notes below, with sources.

We read each vendor's own product pages, data sheets and filings on October 30, 2026 and counted which of the six jobs each documents. Ranking weighs that breadth first, then the depth of agent and MCP coverage, deployment choice and price transparency. None of the nine ranked platforms lists prices on its own site. Latency and accuracy figures are vendor claims we have not tested. No vendor paid for placement.

Buyer guidance

Criteria-based recommendations for the most common shortlist scenarios.

Start with the job you need done. For AI agents and MCP servers, see Best AI Agent Security Tools 2026. For an inventory of AI assets and misconfiguration checks, see Best AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) Tools 2026. For testing before launch, see Best AI Red Team Tools 2026, and for how runtime guardrails work, read AI guardrails. If you already buy from Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, SentinelOne or F5, their AI products (Prisma AIRS, Cisco AI Defense, Prompt Security and F5 AI Guardrails) fit consoles and contracts you have. Check Point completed its purchase of Lakera in November 2025; Lakera is ranked in our red-team list. For data leaking into employee AI tools, look at specialists we profile but rank elsewhere or not at all, because they focus on AI use rather than AI you build. WitnessAI lists AWS Marketplace prices of $180 per user for 12 months (1,000-user minimum) and $24 per agent (2,500-agent minimum). Harmonic Security sets allow, warn, redact and block controls by user group, AI tool and data type, and adds an MCP Gateway for agent traffic. Nightfall AI includes AI agent security (hooks for Cursor, Claude Code and VS Code, plus MCP discovery) in its Premier edition, priced per user per year. Knostic publishes prices for coding-agent security: Kirin is free for 1 to 5 users and $15 per user a month for teams. See also Shadow AI.

What we did not include

Transparency about exclusions.

We rank only vendors with a full profile in our directory. These are not profiled yet: Wiz, which Google finished buying on March 11, 2026 and still sells under the Wiz name across clouds, offers AI-SPM that discovers AI models, agents and services without agents and maps attack paths to them. Microsoft Defender for Cloud includes AI security posture management in its Defender CSPM plan. CrowdStrike sells AI Detection and Response (AIDR), announced on September 16, 2025 with its agreement to buy Pangea. Of the vendors we do profile, Lakera (Check Point), Promptfoo (OpenAI) and Giskard focus on testing and are ranked in Best AI Red Team Tools 2026. WitnessAI, Harmonic Security, Nightfall AI and Knostic are named above as usage, data and coding-agent specialists. DeepKeep documents four of the six jobs but gives less detail on each than the nine above; it is ranked in Best AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) Tools 2026. Cranium documents discovery, AI bills of materials and red teaming, but its platform page does not describe runtime blocking. Prediction Guard is a self-hosted control plane covered in the agent security list's notes. The old profiles for Protect AI, Robust Intelligence and CalypsoAI stay in the directory, but we rank the products they are sold as today.

Frequently asked

What do AI security vendors do?+

They protect the AI systems a company builds or uses. The work falls into six jobs: runtime protection that blocks prompt injection, jailbreaks and data leaks in prompts and responses; agent security that controls what AI agents and MCP servers may do; AI security posture management (AI-SPM) that inventories AI assets and finds misconfigurations; model scanning that checks third-party models for tampering or malicious code; red teaming that attacks AI before launch; and data leakage controls for employee AI use. Platforms such as Prisma AIRS, Cisco AI Defense and Noma cover most of these; specialists cover one or two.

Which AI security companies were acquired in 2025 and 2026?+

Palo Alto Networks completed its purchase of Protect AI on July 22, 2025 and folded it into Prisma AIRS. SentinelOne completed its purchase of Prompt Security on September 5, 2025 and sells it as part of its Singularity Platform. F5 completed its $180 million purchase of CalypsoAI in 2025; the technology is now sold as F5 AI Guardrails and F5 AI Red Team. Check Point announced it had completed its purchase of Lakera on November 11, 2025. Google completed its purchase of Wiz on March 11, 2026 and kept the Wiz brand. CrowdStrike agreed to buy Pangea on September 16, 2025. Earlier, Cisco acquired Robust Intelligence in 2024; it is the core of Cisco AI Defense.

What is the difference between AI security and AI governance?+

AI security tools are technical controls: they block attacks and leaks, scan models and find misconfigured AI assets. AI governance platforms manage the program around AI: inventories, risk assessments, policies and compliance evidence for laws and standards such as the EU AI Act and ISO 42001. The two overlap. Noma, for example, maps its posture findings to the NIST AI RMF, the EU AI Act and ISO 42001. Most organizations need both; see Best AI Governance Platforms 2026 for the governance side.

Do AI security vendors publish prices?+

Rarely. None of the nine platforms ranked here lists prices on its own site (checked October 30, 2026). Zenity's AWS Marketplace listing for AWS Security Hub Extended is usage-based: $130 per resource a month for observability and $16 per million tokens a month for runtime protection. WitnessAI lists prices on AWS Marketplace: $180 per user for 12 months with a 1,000-user minimum, $24 per agent with a 2,500-agent minimum, and $300,000 for 12 months of its WitnessProtect Model Protection Guardrail. Knostic publishes Kirin plans: free for 1 to 5 users, $15 per user a month for teams, and quoted Enterprise pricing. Nightfall AI prices per user per year. Expect the rest to quote after a demo.

Should I buy AI security from my existing security vendor?+

It depends on how much of the job you need now. Prisma AIRS (Palo Alto Networks), Cisco AI Defense, Prompt Security (SentinelOne) and F5 AI Guardrails plug into consoles you may already run, and Wiz and Microsoft Defender for Cloud add AI-SPM to cloud posture tools. AI-native vendors such as Noma, Lasso and Pillar document deeper coverage of agents, MCP servers and coding agents. Many teams start with what their current vendor includes, then add a specialist where agent coverage falls short.
